How I Primp For Less

One thing that I love to do is to spend time primping. I love to paint my nails and do my makeup even if I’m not planning on doing anything for the day. It’s just fun for me! Unfortunately, keeping my primping routine from being boring or repetitive can be pretty expensive. Over the past couple of years I’ve managed to find a way to cut down on the cost of my primping habits while keep it fun by incorporating a few elements into my monthly budget.

IPSY – I love makeup subscriptions! Ipsy is only $10 a month I’ve been able to try all sorts of amazing brands and products! Face masks, makeup brushes, new mascaras…I’m never bored with my makeup collection and I haven’t had the urge to splurge in MONTHS.

Brainstorm Notebooks

One habit I’ve picked up on since I started blogging is having a designated notebook for my brainstorming. Anytime I feel struck with a sense of inspiration I grab my pastel Moleskin notebook and start jotting down anything and everything that pops into my head.

Post ideas, logo sketches, to do lists, rough drafts of articles, any and every rouge thought I have I try to record in my notebook. Even if I don’t use all of the ideas right away in the future I may find myself struggling with writers block and ‘lo and behold! I have a notebook chock full of untouched ideas.

How To Give Your Blog A Smooth Makeover

I recently did a top to bottom makeover on my blog and I want to share a few key elements in making a smooth and swift transition.

1) Fresh Look – color scheme, logo, and background are the main three elements I attack when I’m working on a new look for my blog. Typically I make the logo myself in Illustrator and mess around with colors until I find the right shade. In the past I found simple backgrounds online but the past couple I had made for me. As it turns out simple pastel scallops take .02 seconds to make.

How To Make The Most Of Online Dating

Back in June I decided to take charge on my (lack of) love life and made an account on an online dating website. Now I’m back to report on what I learned during the two weeks I was able to put my best foot forward and trick a guy into liking me. Well, maybe not TRICK him but either way I’m help you be successful in your online dating endeavors.

Be picky – The biggest reason I think I was successful during my short time on an online dating website was due to the fact that I was picky as hell. I read through so many profiles and although there were quite a few that seems decent I wasn’t convinced. I don’t want OK or DECENT. I definitely feel like since I was so picky about who I spoke to it saved me a ton of time. Either that or I was just super lucky by finding someone super cool in my first encounter.

How To Revitalize Your Social Life

A few months ago I went through a bit of a rut with my social life. I’m sure it’s mostly all in my head (or my own doing) but that didn’t make it and less uncomfortable for me. Fortunately, I’ve never been one to wallow in my problems. I identify the issue, come up with possible solutions, and follow through with my plan. As far is my social life is currently concerned I’ve made some great progress with revitalizing it. Here are a few things I did that could help you revitalize your social life, as well:

Reach out to the people who are right in front of you – Coworkers, classmates, people you know but not well. Be bold, straightforward, and simple ask to hang out more. Once people know you’re interested in hanging around they become more open to including you in their plans.

How To Survive A Crummy Day

Every now and then a day will pop up that is just UGH. There may not be a reason to it, either, your day just sticks. On the bright side tomorrow has the potential to be a hundred times better, but in the mean time you’ll have to make do with the day you have now. Good thing there are many ways to survive a crummy day!

Doll yourself up – This solution may not be for everyone, but it certainly helps me get through a rough day. If my day isn’t going so well I’ll doll myself up. If I don’t feel good I can at least look my best. It gives me extra confidence to help pull me though the day.

Texting Potential Dates

Texting on a normal day can be a real struggle for some. Whether you don’t know what to say, what you have to say is too “weird”, or you just can seem to interpret other’s texts correctly, the whole situation ends up as a hot mess. I’ll admit to all three of these and then some. I couldn’t text correctly to save my life, but that doesn’t stop me from trying. It’s difficult now more than ever when texting is becoming more and more deeply ingrained in the way we socialize with one another. It’s pretty much impossible to avoid, especially in the world of dating.

The ultimate question we are all asking is ‘How do I not make myself look like a complete dumbass while talking to a potential boyfriend/girlfriend?’. Once you’re officially a couple you’re good, you’re in there, but until then it’s like blindly running across an interstate highway while holding a pair of scissors.

Although I can’t give you foolproof advice on how to text a potential significant other I can give you tips that I’ve learned personally though the trial and error process. Does my insight actually hold any weight? Well, that’s for you to decide.
