How I Calm Down

I’m currently going through a pretty massive life change (as I tend to do at least once a year since I left high school) and even though things are going according to plan I’m still freaking out about it. I realize that it’s just because things are going a little slower than I planned but I still need to find a way to calm the hell down. Here are a few things I’ve been doing in an attempt to cope with some of the stress:

How To Give Your Blog A Smooth Makeover

I recently did a top to bottom makeover on my blog and I want to share a few key elements in making a smooth and swift transition.

1) Fresh Look – color scheme, logo, and background are the main three elements I attack when I’m working on a new look for my blog. Typically I make the logo myself in Illustrator and mess around with colors until I find the right shade. In the past I found simple backgrounds online but the past couple I had made for me. As it turns out simple pastel scallops take .02 seconds to make.

How To Embed A Spotify Playlist In A Blog Post

I’ve been asked a few times about how I embed my Spotify playlists into my blog posts. It’s a simple task though it doesn’t translate well over text. I figured the best way to answer everyone’s questions is write up a tutorial on the blog! Just as a note: This is how you embed Spotify in WordPress, though I can imagine other blog services would be pretty similar.

STEP 1: Open the Spotify Application on your computer.

How To Make The Most Of Online Dating

Back in June I decided to take charge on my (lack of) love life and made an account on an online dating website. Now I’m back to report on what I learned during the two weeks I was able to put my best foot forward and trick a guy into liking me. Well, maybe not TRICK him but either way I’m help you be successful in your online dating endeavors.

Be picky – The biggest reason I think I was successful during my short time on an online dating website was due to the fact that I was picky as hell. I read through so many profiles and although there were quite a few that seems decent I wasn’t convinced. I don’t want OK or DECENT. I definitely feel like since I was so picky about who I spoke to it saved me a ton of time. Either that or I was just super lucky by finding someone super cool in my first encounter.

How To Boost Your Confidence

It seems like obtaining and maintaining confidence has always been a problem for people and always will be. Even when someone finally finds confidence there will always be people trying to bring them down (I’ve personally been called vain before simply for admitting that I love being me).

How To Revitalize Your Social Life

A few months ago I went through a bit of a rut with my social life. I’m sure it’s mostly all in my head (or my own doing) but that didn’t make it and less uncomfortable for me. Fortunately, I’ve never been one to wallow in my problems. I identify the issue, come up with possible solutions, and follow through with my plan. As far is my social life is currently concerned I’ve made some great progress with revitalizing it. Here are a few things I did that could help you revitalize your social life, as well:

Reach out to the people who are right in front of you – Coworkers, classmates, people you know but not well. Be bold, straightforward, and simple ask to hang out more. Once people know you’re interested in hanging around they become more open to including you in their plans.

How To Survive A Crummy Day

Every now and then a day will pop up that is just UGH. There may not be a reason to it, either, your day just sticks. On the bright side tomorrow has the potential to be a hundred times better, but in the mean time you’ll have to make do with the day you have now. Good thing there are many ways to survive a crummy day!

Doll yourself up – This solution may not be for everyone, but it certainly helps me get through a rough day. If my day isn’t going so well I’ll doll myself up. If I don’t feel good I can at least look my best. It gives me extra confidence to help pull me though the day.

How To Heal Bleached Hair

Growing up I was always told not to bleach my hair. Of course as an adult it’s my duty to break all this rule and try it out. The dangers were great. I have naturally dry and brittle hair so the odds of my hair surviving were not in my favor. I pulled through, though, and I managed to get my hair to be softer than ever! I didn’t think it was possible, but if you follow these tips you’ll be on your way to softer, stronger bleached hair too!

Dry Shampoo, Deep Conditioning Hair Masks – invest in these products and use them as often as you see fit. I personally use Deep Conditioning Hair Masks once a week until I feel my hair is soft enough. I use dry shampoo regardless of how soft my hair is.
