Starting the Year Off Right

I have a lot of update I need to catch up on here on the ol’ blog, which I guess is a good thing since that means more blog posts! It’s a new year so I figure I would start it off right: by dusting off the ol’ blog and give writing another shot.

I’m 99% sure I have said this at least once a year on this blog but I will say it again…writing is the only hobby I’ve had that has stayed enjoyable and has followed me through the years. Plus my blog is pretty cool because it is a timeline of my life since I was 18 and moved out of my dad’s house for the first time. How lucky am I to be able to look back and remember my crazy adventures! With blogging again I have a new look for my keyboard (pictures will follow in an upcoming post), a have a fresh notebook for brainstorming: a BB-8 moleskin notebook, and completely disconnecting my blog from social media. With that if you would like to still keep up with my posts here you can subscribe to emails for when I post (there is a weekly option, too, which I like). Other than that you’d have to pop in every once in a while.

In 2017 I cut out 98% of my social media use. I do not look at Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube…who knows what other accounts I have floating out there. I look at Instagram about twice a month and I check my Tumblr whenever it strikes me. Believe it or not, cutting social media out of my life has taken SO much stress out of my life. More on that later.

I’m excited to be back to writing and I think not posting updates to social media will help me feel more comfortable posting because I am perfectly content with writing into the ether…I have no interest drawing attention to myself or my posts. I’m just here to have fun.

With that, I’m off to start working on some new content!
