I’m sure I say this every single year, but time has really flown! It feels like just yesterday it was the end of 2015 and I was buying a car and getting my own apartment again. Now, a year later, I’m struck with the same sense of relief that the year is coming to a swift close.

2016 has been an amazing year! I decorated my new apartment, enjoyed many holidays with Austin, I have a cat around the house again, enjoyed the pool and cider all summer, got a new job, enrolled in school, and now here I am sitting here waiting for all of my grand plans of unfold.
Mostly I’m just waiting to see what my days off will be for the upcoming holiday season. Since I work part-time (even though I was scheduled for over 40 hours at the beginning of November!) the time I have available to enjoy holiday festivities is in the hands of my boss. I’ve been a great employee since I started but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m new…on top of the fact that I’m one of the few new employees that knows how to make drinks and close the store at the end of the night…so I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m forced to cancel my holiday plans….but we’ll see! I don’t want to assume anything…the odds just aren’t looking too good for me.
Getting all of my plans for school, work, and my social life in order for the last three months of 2016 has been a complete nightmare. I school start date and schedule kept changing, the day I was supposed to quit my old vs when I actually quit, birthday plans for my sister and myself, and my still pending holiday plans. I have a lot going on these days! My planner has so many scratched out appointments of things that never happened, got moved around, or things I don’t have time to do anymore.
Needless to say, the past couple of months have been pretty hectic and I can’t wait for 2017 to roll around so my schedule can finally fall into place. A little consistency would be really nice at this point! Until then I have my fresh 2017 planner out and ready to go for when I finally survive the rest of 2016!
