This month Ipsy has delivered a perfect bag to my door step. Even the makeup bag itself is the cutest one I’ve received to date and when I opened it I was thrilled about everything I got this month.
Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner Pen ($19) – This is the first time I’ve tried a higher end eyeliner and WOW I’ve been missing out! I haven’t been super into using liquid liner lately but the pen I got is so high quality and easy to use, all it takes is a few swipes to take my look to the next level. I fully intend on buying this product as soon as the one I have dries out. Goodbye drugstore eyeliners! I just can’t do it anymore.
Kokie Nail Polish in Heavenly ($6) – I love cool colors for my nails so when I get this grey nail polish I was so excited to try it out. I like the formula (though I’m typically not too picky about my nail polishes) and the color is gorgeous. I definitely see myself using this shade a lot in the future.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($43) – I’ve never used foundation before and never saw a reason to because I naturally have clear skin but when I got some in my bag this month I gave it a whirl. It’s. Amazing. It’s lightweight and it creates a very polished look which is a lot of fun. This summer I’ve been into bare face and a little mascara but this Ipsy bag is showing me that a little more makeup in my routine can be just as fun, too. It’s totally a product I would buy in the store once my sample runs out.
Sally’s Box Aqua Moist Gel Cream (???) – The little container didn’t have any clear label or instruction so I had to look online to figure out what is was or how to use it. It turns out it’s a facial moisturizer. It’s really nice to use on days that I want to give my face a little extra love when I cleaning it, but it’s not something that makes or breaks my beauty routine.
Trust Fund Beauty Gimme Good Face Primer (SOLD OUT) – I love primers and this one works really well with the foundation I got in my bag. It’s a primer I would only use if I was going all out with my face since it smooths out the face more than what I would consider a more “natural” look. The formula is good but it makes me feel like my makeup could melt off (maybe I used too much?) but I just picked up a setting spray to soothe my concerns. It’s a really good primer but probably not my go-to.
BONUS ITEM: Dirty Little Secret Matte Liquid Lipstick ($14)– I got an extra item in my bag this month because I collect enough points by reviewing my ipsy bags on the website and I chose to receive a lipstick from Dirty Little Secret. I was on the fence about it because of the brand, I’ve gotten a product from them before that wasn’t great to say the least…but I’ve been super into liquid matte lipsticks to I gave it a try. AWFUL. It’s super drying on my lips and it all flaked off about two hours later. I plan on throwing this lipstick out and never using DLS again. I’m not sure why Ipsy promotes them since it’s such a crumby brand.
