What Is With Pumpkin Spice Lattes?

This is a question I’ve asked for many years. Not to anyone in particular because 1) I didn’t want to rain on anyone’s fall-themed parade and 2) it honestly isn’t that big of a deal. I’m going to say that again a little louder for the people with particularly strong negative feelings about the Pumpkin Spice trend: IT ISN’T A BIG DEAL.

Anyway, for years I’ve been at a loss about why people get so crazy about the pumpkin spice latte craze until finally the day came. Yeah, as bizarre as it might seem I actually went on a limb and ORDERED ONE. I tried it!

It’s not super pumpkin-y or spice-y…and it’s so cozy! I might be a little biased, too, because when I first tried a pumpkin spice latte I was hanging out with my boyfriend on a big patio at Starbucks at sunset in seventy degree weather (a true blessing in Texas, let me tell you). There’s a lot of positive vibes going on when I tried the PSL, but that doesn’t change the drink! And it doesn’t change the fact that the next day I was craving another one!

Seriously, my cat is orange and white and looking at him just reminded me of what I was missing out on! Ahh! And then I sat down to blog and I couldn’t stop thinking about how nice it would be to mosey on down to the local Starbucks with my laptop to blog and DRINK A FESTIVE LATTE.

I understand the hype, guys. The obsession with pumpkin spice lattes is real and I’m officially in the mix. It’s a really good thing I don’t care about people thinking I’m “basic” or “white” or “a girl” as if any of these things matter. More lattes!
