As I’ve mentioned a few days ago I’m planning on growing my hair out over the next couple of years. Now, I could simple let time pass and let my hair to it’s thing but I’ve never been one to half-ass a project. So I have a plan!
I’ve picked up a few Mane n Tail items to incorporate into my weekly hair routine. I know, I know! Mane n Tail is more of an Urban Legend more than any thing else but it’s inexpensive so why not see for myself? And don’t worry, I’ll be sure to write a whole review on Mane n Tail after a few months so you can have my professional opinion on the myth.
Basically, my new routine is using Mane n Tail shampoo and conditioner instead of my usual Bed Head brand. I usually wash my hair 2 – 3 times a week, so I don’t dry out the oils in my hair. I’m also going to be using the Mane n Tail Maximum Herbal Gro pomade. Essentially it’s a leave-in conditioner which is used to style your hair. I’ll write a separate review on this product as well since it seems to be a less well know item.
The last element of my hair growth routine is, of course, biotin. I’m taking 5000 mcg of biotin everyday with breakfast (a generic brand because honestly it’s a supplement so what’s the difference). I almost went with the Hair Skin and Nails supplement, which includes an assortment of vitamins to promote hair growth BUT a bottle of 90 pills was $14 whereas the bottle of just biotin with 120 pills was just $6. Beauty on a budget, guys.
I’ve been doing this routine for a couple of weeks now and so far my hair definitely feels and looks healthier and stronger. In a worst case scenario, my hair doesn’t grow faster but it’ll grow stronger so it’s still a win. I’ll get back to you on my hair growth progress in a few months!
