Going Back To School!

I bet y’all didn’t expect to hear me say these words so soon! I’m going back to school!

Back in 2014 I dropped out of a traditional 4-year college for a plethora of reasons. Now, two years later, I’m ready to go back! Not back to a traditional school, but to cosmetology school!

I’ve been SO excited about cosmetology school every since I finally accepted that I wanted to go. I’ve been thinking about beauty school for at least a year now but I never took the thought seriously until the other day. I don’t know what exactly came over that triggered me to take it seriously but it’s so refreshing to have a goal again.

I’ve been interested in hair and beauty for years, most commonly demonstrated on my blog where I’ve been writing reviews on products and giving beauty and style tips pro bono for years. I love it! So why not work with beauty and style professionally?

I applied for a cosmetology program earlier this week and I start in January. This is going to be such a good change for me for so many reasons, the most immediate one being it would force me to leave my dead-end job. I’m comfortable in my current job but it doesn’t inspire me to grow, which is something I strongly dislike (not to mention the hour long commute in traffic), so I need to move on. I think going back to school would be the best way to get out of the job and give me the confidence to do better.

I still have a lot to do to get ready from school, but I just wanted to put it out there for the world to see: I’m going to do something with my life!
