This month I turned 21 and I was super excited to be able to legally drink. Don’t get me wrong, I still am, but now that I’m of age I realize that my life hasn’t changed much from when I was 20. I’m not much of a drinker, and one of the reasons I don’t drink much is because my drinking buddy lives on the other side of town.

Do you have that one specific person that you occasionally throw a few beers back with? Mine is my boyfriend, Austin. When we get together I probably end up drinking more than him even though he’s almost a foot taller than me because he worries about me getting out of hand (I squeal and wander around. So sue me!). Mind you, me drinking more than him means I drink one or two beers and he drinks 2/3 of one. We’re real wild, I know!
I’m glad to have the freedom to drink alcohol, and I’m comfortable with the few occasions that I indulge. I’m not going to go out of my way to increase my consumption simply because I can. I’ve never been a partier and I refuse to drink alone. Drinking a few beers every now and then with someone who’s company I enjoy is how I like it. The way I go about drinking works for me, and you know what they say: If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
