With all of the eye shadow palettes out there it can be difficult to pick which one invest in, unless you’re flat broke, in which you don’t have much to choose from. I’d been eyeing the Naked 3 palette for a while but have never been able to afford it, but when Maybelline released their version of a blush palette I had to give it a shot.
At only $10 for the palette it really is affordable for anyone. It comes with a few sponge applicators but I picked up an Elf brush ($1 each) to be a little fancy. The palette comes with 12 shades of pinks, reds, and browns with both sparkly and matte options.
The quality of the eye shadows were decent, though of course not as good as the more expensive options. It’s more than worth the $10! Some shadows pop more than others from this palette, and I often find myself need to apply a second layer when I first put it on, but it lasts all day with eyelid primer (NYX, $7).
I enjoy the variety of colors I can work with when I bought this palette. For people who can’t or don’t want to spend $50 or more on eye shadows this is a good option for you. I plan of upgrading my palette soon, but this one has kept my beauty routine interesting during tight times.
This palette is also useful for people who don’t know where to start when it comes to pairing colors. On the back it shows which colors work best together in duos, trios, and quads. Some of my favorite combinations are the following:
General use: #1 for inner corner, #11 for under eye
Combos: #3 on lid, #9 in crease
#2 or #4 on lid, #11 in crease
#11 on lid, #12 in crease
#4 on lid, #10 in crease
#7 on lid, #8 in crease
The great part about having a larger eye shadow palette is having fun mixing and matching colors. The Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette is a great investment for someone who is looking for an inexpensive way to ease a larger palette into their makeup bag.
