Ever since I saw Part of Me, Perry’s concert film, I’ve been DYING to see her perform live. Her fun songs, crazy costumes, and elaborate backdrops make me want to scream and dance! AHH! I really could go on all day about all of the reasons why I adore Katy Perry but I’ll spare you. The least I can do, though, is introduce you to the Katy Perry remixes by Johnson Somerset and John Monkman. AMAZING! I’ve been listening to these tracks consistently for months. I’ll give you the list of songs in order of which I love them.

1) Teenage Dream

2) Last Friday Night (TGIF)

3) Roar

4) ET

5) Wide Awake

6) The One That Got Away

7) Firework

I’m amazed by Somerset’s and Monkman’s work. I can’t get enough of their remixes! They can take songs I don’t like and make me love them! Lot’s of props to them!

Speaking of amazing remixes, my encounter with the Katy Perry remixes reminds me of the time I stumbled across Avicii’s remix of Derezzed on the Tron: Legacy Reconfigured album. As if the Tron: Legacy soundtrack wasn’t spectacular enough as it was!

I have a bit of a thing for remixes, if you can’t tell.

Anyway, it was the first time I heard any of Avicii’s work. The song was playing in the car (a person I was traveling had it on a  playlist on Spotify) and I fell in love with the sound. I immediately had to find out who did the remix, so when I got home I got on my Spotify account and looked it up. Ever since I blindly trust that anything Avicii does is amazing. Which, of course, lead me to eventually purchasing his album, True. I didn’t even buy it when it was first released, to be honest. My roommate bought the digital copy and played it in the car while we were out and about. I fell in love the with album almost immediately, to say the least (Liar Liar is my favorite track)! So much so that I went out and bought the hard copy! (image source)

I’ve been jamming out ever since.
